Booming Babies! Baby shower gifts.

I finally got around to making my first treasury which I really enjoyed.

This is the link : http://www.etsy.com/treasury/Njc5NjA5OHwzODMxMzg4Mzc/booming-baby-collection-perfect-baby?index=0

While it took quite a while to compile I can see why people do so many. And in the process, boy did I find sooooo many items I wanted to buy! I currently have five friends/family who are expecting little ones (one is expecting twins girls!!!) so finding the perfect gifts was a joy!

It has been quite a while since my last post. I was finding it difficult to blog while concentrating on uni, mainly because I would get sidetracked looking at different graphic design websites, and of course all the great stores on etsy.com. But I'm back, and will be working on keeping this up to date.

Until next time,

Milli

Surely edible???

It almost seems unfair how yummy some of the things sold on Etsy are! Two stores I've found, not on purpose, just browsing around for exciting items.

 Inedible Jewelry
Oh.My.Gosh! I can't tell you just how much I want to grab these and make sure they're not edible. They look deliscious! Not just one or two, they all  look amazing. I love the different sections in the shop! They're not the normal jewelry sections of Necklace, Earrings, Rings etc. Oh no. They're Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, Sushi and Asian (!!!!) etc. The shop really lives up to their tag line -- "Hand-sculpted treats for the food-obsessed." Going on the Christmas present list for sure!!

Dirty Ass Soaps
http://www.etsy.com/shop/dirtyasssoaps

Aint' it an awesome name?! There's so much to a name, and this one delivers. The realism in alot of this soap is just uncanny. They've even got fake teeth that look exactly like my Nanna's. And it's all soap, all usuable product, not just to sit there looking pretty. But gosh it does that also!

I keep managing to browse shops and allocate items to family and friends birthday/Christmas list, but not spend enough time adding products to my own store or advertising. I'm slowly, slowly getting on my feet and need to have more confidence in myself and my products. Watch this space! Big things are gonna be happening.

Much love xx

More ETSY drooling...

Dropping a quick line. I'm actually half way through watching Amityville Horror but a friend of my husband has just dropped by to borrow a DVD. This is giving me some extra time checking out shops on etsy.com.

I've managed to find a number of birthday/Christmas presents just in these last few minutes which I feel the need to share. These aren't necessarily presents for anyone else, coz I really want them, hehe.

Boston Seaglass
http://www.etsy.com/shop/BostonSeaglass

Wow! Gorgeous, clean and just perfect! And oh my gosh, did you see the price of them?! Definitely getting me one, but I'd say this is a sure fire present for my mum and sister. They've got quite different tastes, yet I think they'll both love these as much as I do.

Leather Arm Candy
http://www.etsy.com/shop/LeatherArmCandy

This shop totally captured me with their name. Everytime I read it I just want to go browse their shop again. And their products, well they just make my day. I had a real hard time choosing just one of their leather products to show. I'm not usually a bright green kinda gal but I love this little coin purse all the same.

Both of these stores are so appealing with their photos and nice amount of range. I need to take some serious tips from these to get my own store up and looking sweet.

Thinking cap time.

Much love. Xx

ETSY!

The site: http://www.etsy.com/

My shop: http://www.lovecreates.etsy.com/

I spend so much time on this site it's not funny! I would like to think I'm spending it productively, relisting or producing new products, but noooooo. I'm finding so many incredible stores, I do more drooling over items rather than my own work!

And so I may a well put this drooling to work by showing off some lovely sites I find along the way.

Miranda Jae Designs

These are beautiful covers for mac laptops, ereaders and I believe she also does iPhone covers! They look so cute, snuggly and well made! It's exactly the type of thing I would love to make... but just never would. Best to leave it up to an expert like Miranda Jae Designs. I'll be sure to buy one soon for my iPhone!

 100% Cotton, hand crocheted!

The Dishcloth Shoppe

Again I just want to snuggle up into these dishcloths and have a nap! Apart from having an adorable name and tag line, look how cheap they are!! I couldn't believe it! They are definitely going on the shopping list, and probably the Christmas list for family. Having spent more for a factory made one in stores, I'm very happy to buy a handful of these bad boys!

I think there is a bit of a pattern to what I'm liking in stores at the moment... It may be because I'm currently freezing cold... But I think not (or not just that.) They remind me of the line from Despicable Me -- "It's so fluffy, I'm gonna DIE!"

Watch for the whole 55 secs... so awesome!

I'm sure I will be making this a regular part of this blog, there are just so many great stores on etsy.com, and I can't keep all the goodness to myself! I MUST share it with the world!

Much love.

Milli.

Starting on shakey ground...

So I've managed to spend the most of the last three days working in Illustrator instead of doing uni work. I find it much more gratifying, but I know that won't last. I need to kick my butt into gear... but in the mean time, here is one of my newest creations...

I have spent a lot of today working on this little rag doll, but enjoyed every minute of it. Well I'm sure there were a few that I didn't, like getting her legs to go under the skirt! Not as easy as it sounds. Not for me anyway. May have been a lack of caffeine though...

I feel I need to put as many hours into etsy.com and this blog as I can (without jeopardising my uni degree) so I can really get my name out there, but also to build up my skills. Even just over the last couple of weeks I can look back at some thing I've made and go... wow, that's not as good as I could do now. I'm also sure that with more practise, I will get faster at using Illustrator etc, because at the moment, I'm really not.

Welcome, Popo!

Popo is now available on cards, only at http://www.etsy.com/people/LoveCreates !

Taking the plunge...

I'm hoping starting a blog is the hardest part...

Well my name is Amelia (aka Milli, Mia, boofhead), I'm currently 23 and studying Graphic Design at Charles Sturt University. I've started this blog for a couple of reasons.
  • Linking to my etsy.com store to sell my products
  • To have somewhere to upload my new works I'm playing with
  • Gather and share links I like, such as other Graphics blogs or shops
  • To have a record of where I'm starting out and my progress onwards
I'm excited to get started with this blog, and promise to upload at least once a week. Chances are there will be times when I upload loads in one day, it all depends on how my uni work is going and everything else.

Until next time...

Milli xx
